Daddy, take me driving. I am ready!

The toys have changed in our house. Parker likes his keys, cell phone, car, jumper and mailbox. If you give Parker a rattle, he will look at it and throw it across the room and give you the look that says, "I ain't no stinkin' baby!"

Today, we were playing on the floor with Mama Vicky and Aunt Ally when he started driving his car, honking the horn and turning on the blinker. He did it all with great concentration and a big smile when he made the toy beep, honk or click. He is ready to race with daddy!

Another highlight of today - Parker giggled for the frist time and almost rolled over from back to tummy. And the best part, he giggled at me when I said "roll over" again, in the same tone that I use to talk to our dog. Apparently, I am very funny!

No thanks, I am alright.

Parker had a bit of a rough night thanks to his top tooth breaking through. I got up with him at 10:30 pm, fed him a bottle and comforted him. At 1:30 am he started to cry again. I nicely asked Chris, "Will you please go check on the baby?" Chris responded as he rolled over, "no thanks, I' m all right." That made me laugh hard enough to wake Chris. He went down to tend to Parker. I came down the stairs at 7 am to the image above - toys and Chris scattered across the floor and Parker fast asleep in his crib.

Giggles galore!

Our playdates with Parker, Teagan and Olivia have gone from coos to giggles, from three babies laying on the floor to three babies learning to sit up, from toy rattles to toy cars (we gathered at my house, so it is all about the boy toys). It is such pure joy to get the kids together.

It is amazing to see the babies grow. And yes, Parker is the biggest, heaviest baby of them all. That's my boy! I am so lucky to have such good friends and love being a mom!

Yeah, that's right...I am wearing Burberry.
What are you wearing, a Costco sweatshirt?

That is fun! Do it again!

Such fun new toys! Teagan loved the mailbox!

She enjoyed the mailbox so much that she got some major attitude when we gave it to Olivia to play with. "Oh no you didn't take away my toy."

Two little monkeys going to the zoo

Parker and Olivia went to the zoo today! What else is there to do in Sacramento when it is a sunny, warm day and you have kids...go to Vic's for a sandwich and then the zoo to play with the animals.
It is fun to be parents and we are blessed to have friends that also have little babes. The Santos family are first time parents too and like to do silly first time parent things with us (like taking a 41/2 and 6 month old to the zoo AND capturing the experience in 108 pictures). Michele and I just kept laughing, commenting on how life had changed. A year ago, we would have hit the river for a cocktail on a sunny spring day. Today, we go to the zoo, change diapers in the back of the Runner, and watch the clock to make sure that we feed the babies. Such fun.

Swinging on a sunny day

Strolling to the park...

What the heck are you doing to me? Look at my
rubberband wrists.

Hmmm...this is interesting. This just might be fun.

I love to swing!

While mommy and daddy are at work Parker gets to spend time with his grandmothers and Uncle Matty. We are so lucky and Parker has such fun!
Today he went to the park and swinging for the first time. He wasn't so sure about the swing at first, but after a few pushes he was full of smiles and giggles. Thanks Uncle Matty for being such an awesome and engaged uncle! Parker loves to hang with you guys!

Sleeping in Sacramento

A few posts ago, I reported the lack of sleep we were getting. Parker was up every three hours ready to eat and often wanting to play.

After a few weeks of solid foods and tons of play dates with the grandma's, we are sleeping again in Sacramento. Parker doesn't wake up until 3:30 a.m. now! Woo hoo.

Let's just hope that I don't jinx us by writing this post.

1, 2, 3 - Roll Over

Parker is pushing six months and the dude has yet to even attempt to roll over. He lies on his back and just stares at me. He plays on his stomach and just lays his head on the floor when he's tired. Seriously kid...it is time for you to roll over.

My next strategy - placing scattered toys all around him, just outside of his reach. He could have cared less that they where there. He just started playing with his bib. Frustrated at the little monkey, I rolled him on his side...and there he stayed. Really. He balanced on his side. One leg casually thrown over the other. He would turn his head to look directly behind him and I would hold my breath with anticipation. That movement was sure to end with him on his back. Nope. He would look back towards me and start babbling.

The best part (besides that Parker smile he kept throwing my direction), my "Parker. 1, 2, 3...Roll Over" is the same pitch and tone that I use when talking to our dog Pismo.

Parenthood. Funny.

Tub talk

Bath time is just the best. Our little buggers loves to kick and splash. He gets his little chubby legs moving...I could just eat them up. Lately, he enjoys having his ears under the water. He then talks in very low tones, which makes him giggle. Tub talk happens at the Cavner house every night around 6 p.m.

Love you bugs!
