Cause that's how I roll...

GranDiva (aka Grandma Suzie) took Parker to his first political rally at Capitol Park today. She even dressed him the part in red, white and blue (and a hat that didn't quite fit). Parker enjoyed the ride to the park and has taken to putting his feet up on the stroller tray bar. Why you ask? Cause that's how he rolls.
He always has such a good time with his GranDiva and we look forward to him having many future adventures with her. Parker is so blessed and loved so much! We are thankful for our support system. It makes having the babes that much more fun!

You're surrounded!

I could just stand over Parker and watch him sleep for hours - so peaceful. Parker was not a great sleeper in the beginning. He woke up often and we tried to find things that would soothe him back to sleep. At first it was the Sleep Sheep whale sounds. Next we added a small blanket with satin edges that he would rub on his face. We then found he liked two soft blankets, one for each side of his face. Next, we added a sutffed animal to the mix that typically rests right above his head. In this particular picture he chose to spoon the bunny. Parker now sleeps surrounded with stuff. It is the funniest and cutest darn thing ever! (Don't worry, we make sure that he is safe.)

The fam

Parker 7 months

Hiking...kind of.

In the seven years my parents have owned their cabin Chris and I have only visited a handful of times. Something spectacular happened after Parker joined our family, we started using the cabin. We have big plans for him to take golf lessons, swim lessons and be a junior ranger and Big Trees State Park. We have visions of joining our friends for winter snowboarding trips and summer swimming and wine tasting vacations that we hope will become yearly traditions.

This weekend we are here with my parents. While my dad and Chris played a round of golf; Parker, my mom and I visited Big Trees for our afternoon outing. Although Parker is getting a bit heavy for the front pack, the weather was beautiful, the trees were big and I felt very lucky to have such a wonderful family and special place to escape! And a bonus - we do not have to hear my father ask us when we are going to use the cabin anymore!

Welcome Anthony Allen Knott!

What fun to have babies the same time as friends. It is something that you cannot plan and I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by friends with the babes!

Kristen Lynne Knott and I have been friends since the second grade. Kristen and her husband Allen had sweet Anthony in early April. Parker and Anthony were the same exact size at birth - 6 pounds 11 ounces, 19 inches (yes, Parker was three weeks early). I cannot believe how tiny Anthony seems. I try and think back to what it was like when Parker weighed six pounds verses the 22 pounds he weighs today. I remember my friend Holly commenting on how little Parker was and stating that Parker's head was the size of her fist. I didn't believe her at the time, but in retrospect she was so right. All I know is that the infant phase is such a sweet and tiring time.

Welcome Anthony. Parker can't wait to play with you when you get older!

It's about darn time!

Parker, you better roll over! A game that we play many times a day where we hold Parker's feet, rock him back and forth and flip him onto his stomach as we say, "you better roll over." To my pleasant suprise Parker rolled from his tummy to his back. Probably because he absolutely hates being on his stomach. Whatever the reason, I am a proud mama that at seven months Parker rolls...one way.

How big is Parker?

So big...a new, fun game we play. When we ask, "How big is Parker?" he sticks his tongue out (it must help with his balance) and lifts his arms no higher than his ears. He quickly figured out that if he raised his hands above his head he would topple over. It is amazing what they learn! So big is So fun!

Ahhh Boo!

Parker learned a new game...he thinks it is pretty darn fun (and so do we)!

Hawaii 10

We have a few places that we love and Hawaii is at the top of the list. We took Parker and my parents on a 10 day vacation to the island of Kauai. The trip started with a three hour wait in the plane while American Airlines changed a lightbulb in an emergency exit. Totally necessary for a daytime flight. After a long day of travel we arrived at our condo at the Point and Poipu. Our view from the balcony was Shipwreck Beach and simply lovely.

Parker adjusted to island life quickly. He went swimming every day followed by a two hour nap. He got his first tooth, giggled a ton, had his first visit from the Easter Bunny and still did not roll over in Hawaii. Oh, sweet baby - it is time to roll-over - but I digress.

It was wonderful to have my parents on the trip. Parker was surrounded by love and showered with attention for 10 days and Chris and I were able to sneak away for a few date nights.

It was a great family vacation with lots of laughs and memories! We can't wait to hit Maui next year...with a toddler *gasp.*
