Arrrrr

Papa bought Parker a pirate costume this weekend.  Parker ripped the package open and became the Pirate of Murphy's.  He walked up to the many wine tasters on the sidewalk and gave a big ARRRRRR.

He makes us smile.

Vintage

Didi likes to save things and boy are we glad she does!  Today she introduced Parker to the world of vintage Fisher Price.  He has an ambulance, a safari, an airport, a car repair shop, a house, and much much more.

He was so excited to play with them.  In fact, on the way home tonight he asked if he could go to Didi's tomorrow to play in his room with his toys.

His imagination is the best.  He makes up scenarios and creates different voices for the figurines.  One guy tonight was stealing the others backpack.  It was a very serious situation, but they worked it out in the end.

What a fun world of imagination!

It is tubing time.

We have been having so much tubing this winter.  Parker loves it and it gets us out of the cabin.  We told our parents we were taking them, so they hit REI and got fully equipped with snow gear.

We had so much fun our first tubing experience with Ama and Papa.  The sun was shining, the snow was just perfect for making snowmen and we spent the morning at the tubing hill before heading back to the cabin for lunch and naps.

Our cabin is such a great gift and we are so lucky Ama and Papa share!

Snow go...

We went to the cabin with the Grohs family and had a blast.  The weekend consisted of playing in the snow, drinking in the snow, tubing in the snow, skiing in the snow, and just hanging in the snow.

The kids had a great time and so did the adults.  Memories for all forever!

The highlight of the trip was Holly and me deciding to go down the tubing hill in the same tube.  We ended up turning backwards and then heading down the back of the hill straight towards a tree.  I think we both screamed loud enough to start an avalanche, which then quickly erupted into laughter (once we realized we were still alive).

Parker to Daddy - "I help youuuuuuu."

Chardonnay in the snow...it's a good life.

A natural play area for the boys.

 Breakfast with the Daddy's.
Mommy's were watching Project Runway in the warm cabin.

 We got this.

Surgery

Our sweet little boy had surgery today.  He was such a trooper.  There is nothing scarier for a parent than your baby going under anesthesia and being wheeled away from you.

The team at Sutter Memorial Hospital were amazing.  They had a bed full of toys for Parker, including a Buzz Lightyear.  He got stickers for being brave and holding still.  And they calmed our nerves, which was so nice!

The surgery went great!  When he got home, he went to walk and crumbled to the ground.  He looked up at me with his big blue eyes and said, "Mommy, my legs no working."  Keeping Parker bed bound was not an easy task, but we watched movies and ate popsicles until his legs worked and he was able to get up and run!

Easter 2012

Hipity Hopity Easter...is here!

Holiday's just keep getting more fun as Parker gets older.  Easter was filled with family, food, chocolate and fun egg hunts.  Parker loves little figurines.  He creates little scenarios where Mickey Mouse will be sword fighting Buzz Lightyear while Lighting McQueen is flying to the moon.  So, the Easter Bunny brought Parker lots of little superheros for him to play with!

He caught on to the egg hunt, and had fun finding out what was in each egg.  We love having Parker as part of our lives!

The pre- hunt at Ama and Papas.

Easter Morning.

A train, baseball and Caleb. Life is good!

While I was away on a business trip, Chris and Mike took Caleb and Parker to an Oakland A's game.  They boarded Amtrak in the morning, which dropped them off right in front of the coliseum.

The boys played on the train all the way there (while the guys had beers), they ate hotdogs, candy, ice cream and soda; and then Caleb and Parker got to run the bases at the end of the game.  Seriously, does it get any better than that?

The best photo of the day came to me via text.  My mother and I (admittedly, we can worry a bit) asked both Mike and Chris not to loose Parker and Caleb.  I think I may have even uttered the following words, "Don't take your eyes off of him for a second."  As I am sitting in a meeting with Congressman Dan Lungren I hear my phone vibrate.  I looked down to see if it was urgent and I see the following words - We lost Parker and Caleb, but luckily the Oakland PD found them.  After my mild heart attack, I opened the text to find the following picture:

Funny guys!

Here are some more photos from their fun day!
