School
Parker loves school! He now walks in, let's us take his jacket off, and then heads over to the table to eat breakfast with all of his friends. We get a kiss and a wave goodbye. It is wonderful that the tears a endless cries for mama have stopped...at least for now.
The other great thing about school is that they engage the kids in art projects galore. They let Parker do things themselves and he comes home good and messy. Today they put a piece of butcher paper on the wall and created a mural of squiggles. Parker liked the purple pen :)

Flippin' out
So Parker wants to do everything we do, and he wants to do it himself! He wanted to help me make French Toast on a rainy Saturday morning. Holding a squirmy kid over an open flame is not the best idea, so I opted to give Parker a pan, spatula and piece of bread for him to practice on the floor (while Pismo circled waiting for Parker to leave the pan unattended).
He became quite skilled at flipping the bread. He has such focus when he is trying to do something. It is so fun to watch!

One by one
Paker knows what he wants and is incredibly focused when trying to complete a task (does that sound like someone you know?).
I gave him a baggy of Cheerios this morning. Normally, I give him his Cheerios in a cup, but he has been spilling them. He was not happy with the change, immediately walked over to the Tupperware drawer and found his snack cup. He then stomped past me carrying both the baggy of Cheerios and the cup, sat on the dining room floor and moved the Cheerios one by one from the baggy to the cup.
At first, I thought "this is going to take forever." Then I realized that it would give me enough time to blow dry my hair.
Love the bugs!

Do you turn one year more? Do you dress in birthday gear?
Many things have changed since having Parker. We don't really sleep through the night, we love going to the park, we can sing songs from Yo Gabba Gabba, and we celebrate Dr. Suess's birthday!
Parker dressed silly to go to school on Dr. Suess's birthday. He was the only younger kid in his class to dress up (yeah -- mommy and daddy points for us; or we are just the overeager first time parents). We spiked his hair and put on the craziest outfit we could find. And the night before, Chris and Parker read a Dr. Suess classic together.
Parker was not sold on the outfit. We have a fashonista in the making.
