Splash

We give Parker a bath twice a day not because he is a dirty boy, but because he absolutely loves the water. He splashes like crazy. He plays with his toys. He makes loud sounds of excitment as he splashes water half way up the side of the wall. Such joy.

Cute faces!

Big trees, big hugs, big laughs

Parker loves the cabin! This July, he went up on Thursday with Mama Vicky and Papa Bob and I met them all on Friday (Chris had to work). Parker went to the lake, splashed in the Country Club pool, went to the playground, and just had a great time with his family.

The cabin is so wonderful and we are already making so many great memories for our little boy! Thank you Mama Vicky and Papa Bob!

I would like a time machine, please.

I was looking back on pictures of Parker. I cannot believe that he will be 10 months next week. He is just growing so quickly. He does something new every day and everything is so exciting.
He loves when we scare him by playing a very loud game of peek-a-boo. He loves being tickled, jumping while we hold him (the good news is our arms are getting stronger), sitting on our head, cuddling with Daddy for his morning nap, taking a bath and blowing raspberries.
Chris and I just sit in awe at our little bug. We joke that our arms are getting stronger and our hearts are getting bigger. He is the best and brings so much joy into our life. We just cannot wait to do everything with him, but at the same time we don't want him to grow so quickly.
We love you sweet, wiggly little boy!

Breakfast with daddy.

Daddy does everything a little differently (and a little more fun) than mommy. Chris is home with Parker every morning leaving him in charge of breakfast. It is so fun to watch them talk to one another, see Parker share his food with his dad and the best part of the morning is when Parker takes a swig of water from daddy's water bottle. Yup, that's our boy. He doesn't want the water from a cup. He wants to drink it just like daddy does.

People always say it is the simple things in life...and I could not agree more!

Haircut

Now, many parents wait a year before giving the first hair cut. Not us! Parker had four cuts before he was 10 months old. Daddy took him to get his hair cut last week. He was such a champ and looks like a little boy (and so much like Papa Bob!).

Fourth Fun

Happy Fourth of July!

We had a fun filled first fourth for Parker. We began at the annual East Sacramento parade (which we learned is the longest running parade in the U.S.). Parker did not notice the thousands of people in the street, but rather focused in on all of the bicycle wheels. We all cannot wait until he wants to decorate his bicycle for the parade.

We took a few family pictures and ate delicious food. You gotta love the Cavners' - there was not one picture with everyone smiling, let alone looking in the same direction. It is such a fun tradition and Parker had such fun this year.
Following the parade and a short nap, we headed over to Mike and Konrad's for bbq with good friends. Parker LOVES to swim and spent an hour and a half in the pool. He then ended his day with his best friend Caleb giving him a bottle.
It was a great day and so nice to have Chris home with us to share in the festivities!

Play time!

Parker went to Gymboree for the first time with his grandmothers'. Grandma Suzie gave Chris and Parker a membership for Father's Day. It was such a great and thoughtful gift. Parker loves everything about Gymboree...except the parachute. After a day of playing, he went to lunch and then home for a nap (for Parker and the grandmas').

Cup of Joe

GranDiva took Parker to Starbuck's this morning. Starbuck's cups make awesome sippy cups. He enjoyed the morning walk and enjoyed his first cup of joe.
