Nine months!

Parker is nine months old and it is time to record some stats!

Head Circ: 45.5 cm. (55th percentile)

Height: 28.5 in. (45th percentile)

Weight: 22 lbs. 3 oz. (75th percentile)

What is Parker doing?

  • Sits without support (for months now)
  • Tries to crawl, but might still be dragging legs or going backward (yup)
  • Pulls on something to try to stand (try? he is a climber)
  • Moves objects from hand to hand (yup, but prefers the left)
  • Picks up small objects with index finger and thumb (the best was Daddy's nipple)
  • Understands his name, "no" and "bye-bye" (definitely understands his name and "no-no," but doesn't really pay attention
  • Repeats syllables like "da-da," "ba-ba" (and finally "ma-ma")
  • Fears strangers (kind of)
  • Waves, claps and copies others (working on clapping, but does the other stuff)
  • Protests when parents leave (not really)
  • Enjoys social games such as peekaboo (totally)

Team Twilight

It is official! Parker is a charmer just like his Daddy. Today Parker and Chris went on their weekly Coscto outing. Chris and Parker enjoy finding the new arrivals, looking at all of the pretty colors on the vast array of TVs, and eating a sample or two.

Today was a very special trip to Costco. Parker won over the hearts of the Costco gals with his smile. He smiles and everyone says, "he has fangs." Yup, that is correct, our baby is Team Twilight and is a proud baby vampire.
Apparently, the girls could not get enough of our little Team Twilight and suprised Chris and Parker with a special, one of a kind Costco name badge for our little bugs. Chris asked what time he should report for work tomorrow...we figured he could work for formula.

Buckle and Da Bugs

Michael (aka Buckles) and Parker (aka da Bugs) are almost four months apart in age, but only two pounds and a half an inch apart in size. The Groh's and Cavner's produce some big, stinky baby boys. They enjoyed a play date where Parker slapped Michael and took his toys -I am not sure how to teach gentle to a nine month old - and Michael just looked at Parker with a very confused expression and then crawled away to play with the "better" toys.

All in all, they really couldn't have cared less about one another until we put them in the tub. Parker wanted all of the bath toys to himself and Michael found it quite funny that he got so upset. When Michael wouldn't hand them over Mr. P would flap his arms and splash water all over Michael, the bathroom and me.

I can't wait to see these two little guys grow...and to show them this picture of the two of them taking a bath together in their teen years!

Kitchen fun

Parker has found the kitchen. He enjoys opening and closing, and opening and closing, and opening (you get the picture) the cabinets. He also loves that he can see his reflection in the stove. But the best thing ever to be found in the kitchen is the bottom drawer on the stove. There are fun copper tins that make a glorious loud sound when dropped on the tile. And they create a wonderful clang when Parker bangs them together. Grandma Suzie, Parker and I spend a few hours in the kitchen.
Next, I teach him to cook!

Don't bother me, I am checking Facebook.

Parker likes the remote, telephone and iphone. He knows how to turn the volume way up, end a call, and flip through pictures. The little bugs even knows when we are trying to fake him out by giving him a remote without batteries or an old, uncharged cell phone. He only wants the real deal.

This morning, Chris handed Parker my itouch. He was so happy...until Chris took it from him for one second. Chris and I chuckled while Parker talked to pictures of himself. And then we realized that our nine month old knows how to use an iphone. Maybe it is time for us to shut down when he is around.

Cutest smile

Our little boy just warms our hearts with his smile.

You gotta move it!

Look who is getting ready to crawl! Maybe. 8 1/2 months.

And he is giving tons of kisses not too. There is absolutely nothing better than coming home after work to a baby excited to see you and then four or five wet, slobbery little kisses. The little moments really are the sweetest!

Tubby time

Parker may not love the tummy time, but he loves himself some tubby time. Bath time is always such fun with lots of splashing, giggling and playing. It is so much fun that he usually gets two baths a day!
Also, I want to give a teeth update. Parker is officially a vampire at 8 months. He has his two bottom teeth and the two fangs on the upper. I call him my little Twilight (popular vampire movie). I keep waiting for the top two teeth to come through, and I am still waiting.

Funny daddy.

Parker loves his daddy. How cute, Chris in uniform and Parker in his pajamas. So sweet.

Puppy love.

Pismo has been a part of our family for five years. When Chris brought him home from Pismo Beach (yes, we got extremely creative with his name), he was small enough to fit in a tea cup. He was our first baby.

I like to think that Pismo is getting used the Parker, but that is not really the case. Pismo is tolerating Parker. Now, Parker on the other hand has discovered Pismo. He just loves the puppy. He wants to grab his hair, poke his eyes, and pull his tail. He also giggles over a good old fashioned game of fetch.

We will see what happens when Parker becomes mobile and can chase the pups all over the house. Let the fun begin!
