Um, I have to go to the bathroom....again.

27 weeks...

I am officially in my last trimester of pregnancy. After six years of trying to start a family, I am just amazed at how quickly the past seven months have gone. Parker is moving like crazy! He spends most of his days rolling around and every once in a while he kicks or punches one of my vital organs. The times he is not moving he is sitting right on my bladder.

Just about the time that I am ready to complain about the heat or the fact that I cannot breathe, I feel him move and am reminded that all of the hormones and treatments that Chris and I endured worked! And come October 8th we will meet our son!

Life doesn't get much sweeter than this!

Baby Shower 101

July 2009.
Joanne, a long-time friend of the Cavner's, hosted my first shower this weekend at the Sutter Club in Downtown Sacramento. What a fabulous party. I connected with family friends that I had not seen since our wedding and Parker received some great gifts, including the amazing jog stroller from his great grandmothers and his "Grand Diva."

Thanks to everyone who showered Parker and me with love...and thanks to Joanne for selecting the most delicious dessert ever made!

What's in a name...

We have decided on a name for our son...Parker Thomas Cavner.

What is in a name. The name Parker is actually my paternal great grandmother's maiden name. You would think that family would remember the name; however, my mother fondly refers to him as Peter Parker (from Spiderman) and my father can't for the life of him remember his name (in all fairness, I don't think he remembers my name half of the time). I have to prompt him with, "and you where the Director of blank and Recreation for years," and then he quickly shouts Parker as if it is a race to answer. Kudos to Grandma Suzie for remembering.

So one more thing checked off of the list...now we just have the room, the delivery and then many sleepless nights!

Yup...definitely a BOY!

At 19 weeks we went to our ultrasound appointment. Mama Vicky, Grandma Suzie, Chris and Keri (with a very full bladder) went into the ultrasound room eager to see our baby. We had a very focused and somewhat unfriendly ultrasound technician who immediately told us that determining the baby's gender was not her top priority and that she would get to it when she did, "so don't ask." We all sat quietly, afraid to ask any questions as she checked all of our baby's body parts...and then it happened. The baby was sitting in just the right position and I immediately knew...IT'S A BOY! Yup...we are officially adding yet another little boy to the Cavner clan. I was shocked and excited and nervous all at the same time. A Boy? What am I to do with a Boy?

I have seen passed the cute dresses and through the lace, ribbon, and bows and am ready (I think) to welcome our baby boy to the world!
